Landmarc has brought home the Positive Climate Impact Award for its innovative approach to soft FM services, delivered in partnership with Purozo.
The Metsa Sustainability Awards, established in 2023 in partnership with the Cleaning & Services Support Association (CSSA), celebrate outstanding ingenuity in the cleaning and hygiene industry. They highlight the industry’s commitment to sustainability and recognise those leading the way in best practices.
The ceremony, held on 19 March at the Pelligon in Canary Wharf, commended Landmarc for implementing a range of initiatives that have reduced costs, improved efficiency and positively impacted the environment and carbon footprint.

SUSTAINABLE INNOVATIONS
By working with Purozo, a specialist cleaning consultancy based in Gloucester, Landmarc has refined its cleaning processes across the UK Defence Training Estate (DTE) and introduce a number of sustainable products:
- imop – saved 535,715 litres of water in the last year
- Fig toilet roll – reduced in-service failures from blocked sewage pipes and enabled the planting of 3,528 fruit trees annually
- Pod in a Pouch cleaning products – prevent 120 tonnes of liquid from being transported across the UK each year, cutting carbon emissions
- Soap20 – eliminated over 4,000 single use plastic containers from landfill
- Uri-Zap – prevents excessive chemical use
These initiatives would not have been possible without the dedication and hard work of Landmarc’s operational teams.
Jamie Hutch, Soft FM Assurance Manager at Landmarc, commented, “Over the last 24 months, our teams have worked extremely hard adapting to new sustainable equipment, products and processes. Their commitment is commendable and they fully deserve this amazing award and recognition. This investment not only makes Landmarc a more sustainable business but also enhances the lived experience of troops using the UK Defence Training Estate to train.”
Martin Kerry, Area Delivery Manager at Landmarc, who was instrumental in the roll out, said, “It’s fantastic that, not only are we a company that delivers on its contract to its clients, but we are able to do it in a way that is sustainable too; this award celebrates that achievement.”
Alex Speak, Sales Director at Purozo, added, “We are absolutely delighted that Landmarc has won this award. It is a testament to the hard work, vision and dedication of their teams, who have embraced significant changes over the past 18 months to make the military training estate more sustainable.
“Our partnership has been built on advancing sustainable practices and products in soft FM, leading to major reductions in waste, transport and water use. It has been an absolute pleasure working with the Landmarc team, and we looking forward to developing our partnership further over the coming months.”
